MWDN: Blaze nearly scorches Southborough barn

Breezy conditions sent flames from a permitted backyard burn creeping toward an animal barn at a home on Middle Road on Sunday. Reports the Metrowest Daily News:

The property owner, who had a permit to burn sticks and stone debris, called the fire department Sunday afternoon to report that the fire was drifting toward the animal barn that houses alpacas and sheep, (Southborough fire Captain Mark Sadowski) said.

Firefighters were able to knock down the flames before they reached the barn. There was no damage to the structure, and none of the animals were injured. Read the story in the MWDN.
