Nickelodeon star to read at Library this Friday

“Star” might be an overstatement. You are unlikely to recognize her face.

But on Friday morning, when she reads “Olivia” books to children at the library, many are likely to recognize her voice.

On July 19th at 10:30 am, the “voice” behind Olivia’s teacher will be holding a special story hour at the Southborough Public Library.

Susan Balboni grew up in Southborough. She now lives in L.A. working as an actress. Her work includes being the voice of Mrs. Hoggenmuller on Nickelodeon’s Olivia.

The show Olivia was inspired by a series of popular picture books by author Ian Falconer. The show then spawned its own series of books based on its episodes.

Balboni is in town for vacation and has offered to come to read some of the books to kids on Friday.

Whether your kids enjoy the show, the books, or just hearing a good story, it should be a fun event.
