This Friday, the Senior Center will be holding one of its Breakfast Club sessions. Resident John Del Rios will share how he transforms solid stone into pieces of art.

Join us for a delicious breakfast and learn how John Del Rios creates a beautiful piece of art from a solid piece of stone.

John has been sculpting for over 20 years in his studio workshop in Southborough. He studied his craft at the DeCordova Museum School and the Worcester Art Museum. Most of his work is done with SoapStone or Alabaster, which are softer and easier to work with than Marble and Granite. He uses traditional hand-tools and stone purchased from places such as Italy, Mexico and the Mid-West.

The event is 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Friday, October 11. Their suggested donation is $6 for Friends Members and $10 for non-Friends Members.

Contact the Senior Center for more details.
