The Southborough Library kicks off its Summer Reading Program next week. Helping bring in young readers is award-winning magician Debbie O’Carroll.

The Library will host O’Carroll’s Fun and Games Magic Show on Friday, June 27, at 11:00 am.

Children will learn about fitness through the art of stage magic. This fun-filled program is perfect for ages 4 to 12 and it reinforces the idea that exercise is good for you.

O’Carroll is described as a “one of a kind performer. She combines stage magic and theater with lots of audience participation to create captivating programs for children.”

According to her website:

She uses highly visual props, colorful costumes, delightful magic and lively stage movement to both educate and entertain. Active audience involvement is the most important feature in Debbie’s magical theatre. Youngsters are invited to become a vital part of the performance as they learn by doing.

All are welcome to attend. Registration is not required. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.

[Note: Reminder that today and tomorrow the Children’s Room is scheduled to be closed for maintenance. It will reopen by Saturday.]
