NSPAC events: Ask the Advocate; meeting with Student Support Services

If you have a child with special education needs, the following meetings may be of interest.

Next week, Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council (NSPAC) will hold it’s first meeting of the school year with the district’s Student Support Services.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, November 13 from 11:00 am – noon. Department reps Director Barbara Goodman and Assistant Director Linda Andrews will meet with NSPAC at Neary School. These meetings are open to all families in the district. You can find the schedule of meetings at www.nspac.org.

Later this month, the group is hosting an “Ask  “Ask the Advocate” panel discussion, Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 10:00 am – noon:

The panel will feature three special education advocates: Ellen McGee, Elaine Rabbitt, & Jacqueline Geer Murphy. Join us for the opportunity to ask both general and specific special education and disability related questions to a panel of seasoned advocates whose focus is the special education process, laws and regulations.

These advocates are not lawyers. Their opinions are not legal advice. Yet, their wisdom and experienced based knowledge is invaluable.

To protect your privacy, questions may be submitted in advance of the event via email to NSPAC1@gmail.com. The audience may also submit confidential questions during the event.

This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP at our website, WWW.NSPAC.ORG.

The event is taking place at the Northborough Free Library, 34 Main Street, with parking on Patty Lane.
