Strung Jewelry Designs Open Studio this weekend

[The following information was provided by My Southborough sponsor Strung Jewelry Designs.]

Maybe you’re thinking about Mother’s Day or a special occasion. Or perhaps you like the idea of jewelry that sparks conversation.

Either way, you’ll want to carve out some time this weekend to stop by Strung’s jewelry design studio.

Strung is holding an Open Studio session May 2-3 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm both days. You can expect refreshments, great rock music, and even better bargains. There will also be door prizes and gifts with purchase.

Best of all, it’s an opportunity to speak to a town artist about her fresh and elegant jewelry.

Each piece is hand crafted by the designer herself, Southborough’s Christina Lamb. All of her items are either one or few of-a-kind. Her full array will be on display, many for the first time. (Click thumbnails below to enlarge for a sampling preview)

Lamb uses fine jewelry techniques and materials including sterling silver, silver and gold plate, Swarovski crystals, artisan pressed glass beads, borosilicate and dichroic glass, semi-precious stones, leather, and all manner of high quality materials from her world travels. (A single necklace could contain materials from Greece, Austria, Italy, and the US!)

The weekend event is more than just shopping. It’s a chance to see how a working artist sets up and organizes a studio. Lamb is also happy to talk about creativity, inspiration, and how she generates ideas.

Of course, for some of you the real draw will be her popular “Bargain Bins” with discounts 50% and up. Double discounted items include necklaces at $25 and earrings at $10 a pair.

Beyond the bin, Strung’s newer pieces start at $69 for necklaces and $29 for earrings and bracelets. Fun new styles for Spring 2015 include very cool Rocks, wooden chains, leather, golden bling bangles, Lucite flower earrings, new takes on traditional Strung beaded necklaces, and more. She will also be premiering her new line of post earrings.

The store accepts cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. It’s located at 15 Summit Road. (Take Parkerville Road on the southside of Route 9. Then take either Skylar Drive or Fairview Drive to Summit Road and look for the pink balloons!)

If you like what you see there (or can’t make it this weekend) you might also be interested in hosting a Strung house party. Among the nice perks, guests can speak directly to the designer and take (or wear) their new purchases home that day.

Hosts can choose between earned credit for jewelry or a donation to the charity of their choice. For more info on that, contact Christina Lamb at lambkin33@aol.com.
