Police logs: Sperry’s smash-in under investigation; dog-on-dog attack; agressive soliciters

A burglary is under investigation at Sperry’s Country Store.  The smash-in was discovered around 1 am the morning of Friday, July 31. If you have information, please contact Detective Sean McCarthy at (508) 485-2121.

Wednesday July 29, 2015:

  • 0739 hrs – A medical was reported at a Tara Road residence.
  • 0855 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Boston Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 0958 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1059 hrs – Officers investigated a trespassing complaint at an Oregon Road business.
  • 1525 hrs – A medical was reported at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 1545 hrs – Southborough Police provided mutual aid to Hopkinton Police Department at a motor vehicle accident in their town.
  • 1716 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1752 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 2209 hrs – An officer responded to Walnut Drive to investigate a report of a four wheeler (ATV) driving up and down the road. The responding officer advised that the four wheeler was no longer in the area.
  • 2346 hrs – An officer investigated a noise complaint on Central Street. A group of females were located and advised to keep the noise down.

Thursday, July 30, 2015: 

  • 0018 hrs – A motorist from Westborough, MA was issued a Criminal Application for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
  • 0457 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Boston Road business.
  • 0940 hrs – A motorist reported an erratic operator in the area of Woodland Road. They advised that the vehicle was no longer in the area.
  • 1043 hrs – An officer responded to Central Street to investigate a report of an erratic operator in the area. The responding officer reported back negative findings.
  • 1219 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1304 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Deerfoot Road residence.
  • 1429 hrs – An officer responded to Boston Road, in the area of the causeway, to provide a well-being check on a female reportedly walking in the area. The officer reported back that the female was no longer in the area.
  • 1640 hrs – An officer checked on a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Pine Hill Road. The vehicle was located and checked out ok.
  • 1643 hrs – A medical was reported at a Lynbrook Road residence.
  • 1656 hrs – An officer on patrol requested the DPW to respond to Newton Street for a large tree limb blocking the roadway.
  • 1656 hrs – A report of an erratic operator on Turnpike Road was transferred to Westborough Police (due to the reported location of the vehicle).
  • 1713 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1748 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Boston Road.
  • 1800 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Central Street. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 2144 hrs – Officers responded to Parkerville Road to investigate a report of an erratic operator in the area. The vehicle was located and the operator checked out ok.

Friday, July 31, 2015:

  • 0053 hrs – Officers responded to a burglary at Sperry’s Country Market on Turnpike Road. The front window of the business was smashed, and suspect(s) were able to make entry. Items were also taken from the business. Mutual aid was provided by Hopkinton Police, Westborough Police, and the Massachusetts State Police (K9). The incident is currently under Investigation by the Detective Unit, and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sean McCarthy at (508) 485-2121.
  • 0640 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1032 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Parkerville Road residence.
  • 1256 hrs – An officer investigated a road rage incident that occurred on Northboro Road.
  • 1306 hrs – An officer assisted the State Probation Department with a possible parole violator in town.
  • 1328 hrs – Officers responded to a Turnpike Road business to assist with an unruly customer. The responding officers reported back that the individual was told to leave the area, and that peace was restored.
  • 1348 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at an Edgewood Road residence.
  • 1535 hrs – A medical was reported at an Edgewood Road residence.
  • 1823 hrs – Officers responded to Cordaville Road for a tree limb in the roadway.
  • 1839 hrs – An officer assisted a resident at the police station with a computer crime.
  • 2001 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.

Saturday, August 1, 2015:

  • 0052 hrs – An officer provided a civilian transport to a female walking on Turnpike Road.
  • 0105 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Boston Road business.
  • 0138 hrs – A medical was reported at a Turnpike Road residence.
  • 0259 hrs – An officer on patrol checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked outside of a Turnpike Road business. Both the operator and the vehicle checked out ok.
  • 0724 hrs – National Grid was notified of tree limbs on top of electrical wires in the area of Sears Road.
  • 0744 hrs – A motorist from Hudson was issued a civil citation for Marijuana possession.
  • 0814 hrs – Officers investigated a four car, motor vehicle accident on Boston Road. Injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1002 hrs – An officer investigated a traffic complaint on Main Street.
  • 1304 hrs – An officer investigated a report of a tree limb in the roadway on Cordaville Road.
  • 1612 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. Injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1617 hrs – Officers investigated another two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 2102 hrs – Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. A motorist from Newton, MA was issued a Criminal Application for OUI Alcohol; Unsafe Operation of a Motor Vehicle; and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 2134 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Boston Road business.
  • 2233 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 2354 hrs – ARRESTED: A Southborough woman was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Westborough District Court. She was subsequently charged with Resisting Arrest during the execution of the arrest warrant.

Sunday, August 2, 2015:

  • 1135 hrs – A medical was reported at the police station on Main Street.
  • 1159 hrs – A medical was reported at a Kidder Lane residence.
  • 1306 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a William Colleary Lane residence.
  • 1556 hrs – A medical was reported at a Boston Road residence.
  • 1651 hrs – The Animal Control Officer was notified of a loose dog attacking another dog on Buffalo Run. The ACO located and took possession of the loose dog.
  • 1834 hrs – A medical was reported at Woodward School on Cordaville Road.
  • 2145 hrs – An officer investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Cordaville Road. The responding officer reported back that the vehicle and the operator checked out ok.
  • 2311 hrs – Officers responded to Boston Road to investigate a report of an erratic operator in the area. The responding officers reported back that the vehicle was no longer in the area.
  • 2345 hrs – Officers responded to Orchard Road to investigate a report of a suspicious motor vehicle driving up and down the road. The vehicle was located, and the occupants checked out ok.

Monday, August 3, 2015:

  • 0931 hrs – A medical was reported at a Turnpike Road residence.
  • 1051 hrs – Officers responded to a Main Street business to investigate a report of a Larceny from the building.
  • 1429 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1550 hrs – A medical was reported at a Southwood Drive residence.
  • 1611 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Southville Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 2026 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Acre Bridge Road.
  • 2034 hrs – Officers conducted a requested well-being check of an Atwood Street resident.
  • 2153 hrs – A medical was reported at Woodward School on Cordaville Road.

Tuesday, August 4, 2015:

  • 0204 hrs – A medical was reported at a Thayer Lane residence.
  • 0636 hrs – An officer investigated a suspicious person report at a Graystone Way residence. The individual had left the area prior to the officer’s arrival.
  • 0740 hrs – Officers investigated a three car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. Injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 0803 hrs – Officers investigated a three car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1150 hrs – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road residence.
  • 1201 hrs – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Newton Street. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1306 hrs – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1527 hrs – ARRESTED: A Southborough man was arrested on an active arrest warrant for his arrest out of Westborough District Court.
  • 1543 hrs – An officer investigated a traffic complaint on Turnpike Road.
  • 1545 hrs – Officers shut down Latisquama Road after several electrical wires came down across the roadway. National Grid was notified and responded to the scene.
  • 1550 hrs – An officer responded to a wire down report on Marlboro Road. National Grid was notified and responded to the scene.
  • 1600 hrs – Officers responded to Acre Bridge Road to investigate a report of a large tree limb in the roadway. The DPW was requested to respond to the scene.
  • 1601 hrs – An officer responded to a wire down report on Sears Road. National Grid was notified of the incident and responded to the scene.
  • 1630 hrs – Wires were reported down on Stowe Road. National Grid was notified and responded to the scene.
  • 1630 hrs – An officer investigated a report of a large tree limb blocking Parkerville Road. The DPW was notified and requested to respond to that location.
  • 1630 hrs – An officer investigated a report of malfunctioning traffic lights on Turnpike Road. Mass Highway was advised of the problem.
  • 1638 hrs – An officer assisted with an injured animal at a Stowe Road residence.
  • 1640 hrs – An officer responded to Framingham Road to investigate a report of a tree down across the roadway. The DPW was requested to respond to that location.
  • 1849 hrs – An officer responded to Sears Road for a wire down in the area. National Grid was notified and responded to the scene.
  • 1914 hrs – An officer responded to a Hillside Ave residence to investigate a report of aggressive/rude solicitors. The solicitors were located and advised to leave the area.
  • 1940 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at an Orchard Road residence.
  • 2127 hrs – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at the Mary Finn School on Richards Road.
