Why flags are at half staff: Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, 2015

Flags in Southborough and across the state are flying at half staff on Friday, September 11, 2015 in honor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and the Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice in the wars that followed. (For more on Patriot Day, click here.)

In addition, the flag will again be lowered from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, September 12, 2015  in honor of Specialist David Hazen Johnston, United States Army, of Lexington, MA. Specialist Johnston died of leukemia. He was diagnosed while serving a tour in South Korea. (You can learn more here.)
