According to Southborough Wicked Local, the Regional School Committee approved naming a section of Algonquin school or grounds after Specialist Brian K. Arsenault. The 2004 alumnus was Killed in Action in Afghanistan.

In 2014, Northborough mourned the loss of its resident, Algonquin students and faculty mourned their alumnus, and the Southborough community shared their grief. So, when the call for naming nominations opened last year it was no surprise to find his name surfaced. Now, the selection is official.

According to the article, the approval allows the Naming Committee to reach out to Arsenault’s family about an appropriate location to name in his honor.

The committee also needs to finalize a location to honor Jean Arathuzik. Her naming was approved six years ago. At the time, the stated intent was to name a language lab after the late Spanish teacher.
