Apply for grants to help end hunger by June 15

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation has announced yet another grant opportunity. The focus this time is on ending hunger.

They are now accepting submissions from organizations that serve our region. Proposals should be submitted by non-profit programs serving cities/towns within Worcester County, which includes Southborough.

Grants will be awarded up to $3,000. The intent is support work towards “creating hunger-free communities”.

Greater Worcester Community Foundation Now Accepting Applications for Projects Addressing Hunger

Grants will be made for innovative solutions to the problem of hunger through advocacy and programs in the Worcester area. The following areas are funding priorities: access to healthy food including advocacy for enrollment in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, child nutrition programs, and senior nutrition programs, affordable farmers’ markets and community gardens. Also of interest are programs aimed at improving household incomes through education and job training, skill development, and initiatives that create jobs.
