Seeking new members for Southborough Trails Committee

The committee responsible for managing and improving trails in Southborough is recruiting new members.

Southborough Trails Committee Seeks New Members!
The 5-member Southborough Trails Committee (STC) manages, maintains and enhances current and future town trails, including the Sudbury Reservoir Trail, Boroughs Trail, and the Bay Circuit Trail. Work projects include: blazing and clearing trails, promoting and improving local trails, pursuing regional trail connections, marking a x-country course for the Trottier team, improving accessibility, creating additional parking, and sponsoring Eagle Scout projects. The STC will pursue partnerships, grants, donations and other suitable funding that will help support its mission.

If you enjoy using the trails and want to preserve them, then this is the committee for you. This is a great opportunity for anyone who appreciates exploring the town’s natural places, enjoys hiking, trail running or working outdoors, and is willing to contribute some time to help improve and expand the recreational opportunities available within the town.

Committee members are expected to attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings and help to manage STC projects. The STC works closely with the town Recreation and Conservation Departments.

To be considered for the STC, you must complete a Volunteer Form (http://southboroughmaboards.vt-s.net/newcaf.php) and submit it to the Selectmen’s office. Please check the box for Trails. Appointments to the STC will be made the end of June and volunteers will serve a 1 year term.
