Flags in Southborough and across the state will be flying at half staff on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in honor of another soldier from a past war whose remains have been identified and are returning home to be laid to rest.
Second Lieutenant Richard M. Horwitz was a member of the U.S. Army/Airforce 716th Bomber Squadron, 449th Bombardment Group. A native of Canton, Lt. Horwitz went missing on February 28, 1945 in the Gulf of Trieste, Gorizia Province, Friuli-Venezia Region, Italy. (To learn more, click here.)
