why two days off? we all have so much trash after a holiday.
I really don’t understand the town’s willingness to restrict transfer station hours as much as they do.

I agree, what us with that? Friday isn’t a holiday so open the transfer station. Ridiculous!

I’ve got no worries with to day, but think the standard hours aren’t compatible with working families (8 to 6 when people with first-shift jobs will be at work, instead of 6 to 8 on fewer days), so of course saturday is always mobbed. Has there been any usage data collected to make better decisions regarding hours?

I do wish they’d post holiday hours on the transfer station site; if it is too hard to provide the known-in-advance schedule on https://www.southboroughtown.com/highway/pages/transfer-station-information then something is wrong with how the town site is managed. I mean, it is great to have it here, but we only get it for the ‘major’ holidays (I wasn’t the only car turning around on Memorial day saturday) and unfortunately it isn’t on the “My Southborough Calendar of Events” google calendar.

I applaud the guy who parked at the chain and walked his trash up to the hopper on Friday, even though that is probably illegal.

I’ve done that walk up before. Frustrating… but effective for trash/garbage. Recycles would be something different.
I never see more than one or two people working the transfer station; so I’d think the service would be well worth the cost.
