Summer Concert Series: Reminder – Hit the Bus plays Wednesday night

Above: Hit the Bus will be playing “music people want to hear, dance and party to” at the next town concert. Head to Neary tomorrow night to hear them. (photo from Facebook)

The Southborough Summer Concert series heads to its regular stage this week. So, if you enjoyed the concert downtown two weeks ago, make sure to bring your blankets/chairs over to Neary School fields (53 Parkerville Road).

The concerts take place bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with backup rain dates on the weeks between.* Next up is the return of Hit the Bus, this Wednesday, June 26th.

As always, the concerts are free. But you’ll want to bring your wallet for dinner and/or a treats. The Town posted what to expect this Wednesday:

For this concert, we’ll be featuring Asian fusion street food from The Grub Guru food truck and delicious ice cream from Uhlman’s Ice Cream!

For those of you not familiar with the popular local band, members describe their genre as an “eclectic mix of music ranging from the 50’s to Today.” The Town furthered:

The group blends rock, acoustic melodies, and electronic to create a unique sound.

I’m again sharing a taste of what that sounds like via SAM’s video of the band playing in the series four years ago:

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the rest of the summer. The remaining schedule for the 7th season is:*

July 10 – The Regulators (playing classics of Soul, R&B and Rock)

July 24 – The Reminisants (playing oldies from the 50s through 90s)

July 31 – Paxton Crossing (playing a variety of genres)

August 7 – Slo Grass (playing acoustic Americana bluegrass)

*Note: To check for postponements due to weather, call 508-485-0710 ext 8 on the day of the scheduled concert. (Although, when I’m aware of a cancellation, I’ll be sure to post the news.)
