Putt Putt at Algonquin for Jimmy Fund – March 14

Algonquin’s Student Council is holding a special event and inviting the public (especially families with kids) to join them. “Putting for Patients” will raise funds for the Jimmy Fund.

The event takes place a week from Saturday. The mini golf and carnival game festival is indoors – so rain or shine.

(Finn School’s SOS has traditionally hosted Putt Putt Palooza in March. But I confirmed that isn’t taking place this year. So if you had any young ones who were looking forward to that – no need to disappoint them. Just redirect them to the Algonquin Regional gym.)

The fun for families extends beyond just the mini golf:

The Algonquin Regional High School’s Student Council will be holding a Putting for Patients Event in coordination with the Jimmy Fund on March 14th from 11 am to 2 pm. Algonquin’s gym will be transformed into an 18-hole miniature golf course along with a hole-in-one contest on a 50 foot putting green.

There will also be carnival and yard games, opportunity drawings, caricaturists, and face painting; all of which will be included in the ticket price. Tickets will be $10 for students and kids and $15 for adults. Food and drinks will be sold at the event. All proceeds will go to pediatric cancer patients at the Dana-Farber Institute in Boston.

This will be the first time Algonquin has hosted a Putting for Patients event, and it will be one of the largest charity events in the history of Algonquin. These mini-golf events are very important to the Jimmy Fund’s fundraising goals, so mark your calendars for March 14th from 11-2 for some fun and games!

The event website asks the public to support the cause even if they can’t make it that day:

All of the proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Cancer patients at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The event is open to all. Bring friends and family to spend a day of fun while also helping these kids who have an illness that they did not want and do not deserve. Please help us raise as much money as we can by attending. If you are unable to come, you can click on the GIVE TO EVENT button to donate. All donations, regardless of the amount, will help and be much appreciated.
