NECC’s 5K Walk/Run for Autism is another annual fundraiser that was forced to go virtual last spring. This year, they’ve added a fun component to make the activity a “live” one.

The timed event will take place on Saturday, May 1st at 10:00 am. The event website explains:

All participants and spectators can log into the Charge Running App to the NECC 5K. From there you can join the LIVE event complete with a running coach, music, inspirational stories, fundraising milestones and more!

Create an account with your email or Facebook. Sign up for our event with one click! Then come back on race day to experience a new way to race!

You will receive a 2-week free trial to the Charge Running app where you can take advantage of more than 20 LIVE classes a day as well as a vast On-demand library of classes.

This announcement is more than a Save the Date, it’s also a prompt for participants to fundraise. To incentivize the effort, NECC will be holding a prize raffle for participants who raise $100 or more:

be entered to win some amazing prizes including a $100 Dunkin’ gift card, Apple AirPods, APEX gift card and more!

You can find more details and register here.

Funds will support NECC, the “leader in autism education, research, and technology” based in Southborough.
