Last month, I shared the good news that Southborough Rotary will be putting on another Food Truck Festival this fall. As in the past, they’ll use the event to do some good (beyond raising community spirits).

Rotary will be holding another collection for area veterans. This time, the focus is “Sweats For Vets”.

The collection drive comes with an incentive, thanks to their sponsor Main Street Bank:

Rotary Club of Southborough is pleased to announce Main Street Bank is sponsoring a campaign to help our local homeless veterans during the 2021 Rotary Club Food Truck Festival. In coordination with the Sweat4Vets organization of Marlborough, Main Street Bank will provide Ten Dollar ($10.00) vouchers to anyone who donates a New England Sports Team themed hoodie or sweatshirt at the festival. The vouchers can be used at the participating food trucks to purchase any item on their menu.

The drive will take place each night of the festival, scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 3:30 – 6:30 pm on September 15th, 22nd, 29th and October 6th. Each night, four food trucks serving a variety of dinner options will be parked on St. Mark’s Field (at the intersection of Routes 85 & 30).

I don’t have the line up yet, but The DogFather, Say Cheese, Travlin’ Bones will be making appearances. They will also feature Trombetta’s Ice Cream Truck each time.

As for the charity, Rotary shared:

Since 2011, Sweats for Vets has been providing sports-team apparel of both warmth and pride to homeless veterans across Greater New England area by rallying many dedicated volunteers and generous donors.
