Obituary: Kenneth Taylor Nolan 80

Dr Kenneth Taylor Nolan, DDS, of Wells ME and formerly of Southborough, MA, passed away at his home in Maine following a period of failing health.

Born May 15, 1942, in Providence, RI, Ken was the son of John and Lillian Pelland Nolan. He received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University and was graduated from Georgetown School of Dentistry in Washington DC.

His dental practice began in 1969, and became Southborough Dental Associates. He served residents of Southborough and elsewhere for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved his coworkers and maintained relationships with many as they became an extension of his family. Upon his retirement he moved to Northport ME.

Ken (“Doc” to many) loved sharing his time with beloved family and friends near and on the water, ski slopes and golf courses and at his home. He enjoyed being with nature and caring meticulously for the landscaping around his home. He spent many hours as a frustrated weatherman and bartender. A man of few words, when he spoke, everyone listened. He was a true gentleman.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jean (Freas), his son Gregory Taylor Nolan, both of Wells, his daughter Rebecca Christine and her husband Edward BIgwood III, of Auburn, MA, his two cherished grandsons Edward and Brandin Bigwood and many, many close cousins.

Friends [were] invited to visit with the family from 4 to 6 PM, Friday, November 11, 2022, at the home of cousins Claudette and Mike Batignani, 89 Sea Road, Kennebunk.

Should friends desire, memorial contribution may be made to Good Shepherd Food Bank, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of one’s choice.
