The New England Rugby Club is again recruiting Southborough K-8 players for spring with training kicking off later this month.

A summer session follows that will start in late May.

The regional program based out of Hopkinton took the Southborough Eagles Rugby program under its wing in 2021. The program continues to act as a “feeder” to the high school teams at Algonquin and other local high schools.

They asked me to share:

NERC is a Co-Ed Youth Rugby Organization which specializes in Rookie and Youth Rugby, which is played by children in the United States in Grades 3-8

We focus on the developmental approach of Rugby to all who wish to partake in the sport. We believe in setting up rugby players to be successful on and off the pitch by instilling the core values of commitment, community, and compassion.

The spring training is two sessions per week from 3/23 to 5/10. The summer session will run from 5/23 to 7/30. The Thursday night session will be held at Trottier Middle School followed by a Sunday practice at the home “Cornell’s Field” pitch. There will be local games and tournaments. A summer training session will follow with additional jamborees and the Bay State Games.
