Obituary: Jeanne Marie (Artone) Duggan

Jeanne Marie (Artone) Duggan, of Worcester, MA, formerly of Easton, NH and Southborough, MA, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023. Jeanne loved to help those in need, knit, complete crossword puzzles, and she had a great sense of humor. She retired as Vice President at McCarthy International, was a long-term volunteer at many organizations, including various Churches, Catholic Women’s Club, League of Women Voters, the Legion of Mary, Knollwood Nursing Center, and more. Whether she lectured at Mass, participated in prayer groups, knitted or crocheted blankets and shawls, filled backpacks or shopped for Christmas presents for needy children, she always shared her joy and her love.

Jeanne is survived by an enormous community of family and friends, including her husband of 67 years, Joseph Robert Duggan, their eight children and their spouses: Chris and Joanne Duggan, Laura and Don Davis, Paul and Donna Duggan, Mark and Patty Duggan, Lisa Duggan, Leslie and John Watkins, Stephanie Levine, Stacie and Chris Chomka. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Nancy Nelson, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernardino and Mary Artone and her brother David Artone.

Special thanks to all the staff at Summit Elder Care and Knollwood Nursing Center for the outstanding care extended to Jeanne. Her legacy of faith and love will live on through everyone she touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation or volunteering at the Alzheimer’s Association or other worthwhile organizations.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 21, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester.
