Meals seek wheels: Volunteer drivers needed

Southborough's Elderly Nutrition Program is looking for drivers to volunteer for a weekly route or as a backup

Southborough’s Meals on Wheels program is again seeking volunteers to make deliveries.

Meals on Wheels is part of the Senior Center’s Elderly Nutrition Program. It’s run by Springwell (formerly BayPath Elder Services). The program delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. The goal is to help “elders maintain independence so they can continue to live in their desired setting.”

Meals are picked up at the Westboro Senior Center and delivered to Southborough seniors.

Springwell is seeking people to help out a few hours per week. They could also use backup volunteers to fill in gaps. It’s worth noting that the program does reimburse volunteers for mileage.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old (and submit to a CORI check). For more information on volunteering, or to sign up, please call Denise Menzdorf of Baypath Elder Services at 508-573-7210.
