It’s time for another open thread.

What’s on your mind this week, Southborough?

For those of you new to the blog, the open discussion thread is your place to ask questions, sound off on town issues, or share information with other readers. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  • Ask questions about programs in town or the town itself
  • Post a note about things that you’re selling or giving away, or things that you want
  • Share notices about upcoming events (Southborough or otherwise)
  • Register your thoughts on town issues or news stories
  • Point out interesting or helpful resources

(Reminder, you must be a registered user to post a comment.)

You can add comments to the thread throughout the week. Check back to see new comments. (If you read the blog via email or RSS, you might want to check the site from time to time for readers’ comments.)

Wondering who paid for repaving rt 85 in front of the transfer station. The gas company or the taxpayers.

I had been concerned about the recent removal of the trees in the island strip in the Town House parking lot. I called the DPW this morning and was told to contact the Facilities Department. If there are others who were also concerned, this is the reply that I just received from John Parent, Director of Facilities. “The trees were removed after it was brought to our attention that they were dropping a substance that was affecting the clearcoat on the paint of the cars that were parked under them. Yes, we are intending to replace the trees that were removed with new ones that will not create the same problem when we are addressing the landscaping related to the current Town House Renovations Project. This in anticipated to occur either later this fall or next spring.”
