Dave McGillivray, the Boston Marathon Race Director, will give a talk in Southborough in mid-September

The community is invited to “Come hear McGillivray’s running achievements from a young boy through adulthood and how he empowers youth to dream big and finish strong!”

The free talk will be held in the Trottier Middle School auditorium (49 Parkerville Road). The 90 minute talk will begin at 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 12th. It is organized by resident Karen Anglim who promoted:

I am BEYOND excited to share with everyone that Dave McGillivray will be speaking to the Southborough community. . .

I had the privilege of hearing Dave speak at a real estate mastermind I attended last March. After attending, I knew I had to have him tell his story to our community. He is the race director for the Boston Marathon and has run the marathon every year since 1973. He has been a runner for over 5 decades and has completed 165 full marathons, including running 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 different continents and has run 9 Hawaii Ironman Triathlons. Even after all of his accomplishments, he is the most humble person and the list of charities he supports is very long. The mission of the Dave McGillivray foundation is to empower youth to increase physical activity, expand literacy, and build community and self-esteem through running, reading, and performing random acts of kindness. Runners, athletes, non-athletes, adults, and youth alike will all love hearing his story how he started running at the age of 12 because he was too little to succeed in other competitive sports. His motto is Dream Big and Finish Strong and you will hear on Sept 12th just how Dave has done this.

Anglim is asking attendees to pre-register here.
