Today, the MIAA posted this fall’s Power Rankings for Mass high school varsity sports. The highest ranked Algonquin Titans team was Girls Volleyball.

With 11 wins and only one loss, the Volleyball team is ranked #4 for Division 2. Last week they beat Wachusett 3-0, Ashland 3-0, and Nashoba 3-2, extending their winning streak to 7.

The second highest ranked team for the school is Field Hockey. After beating Nashoba (2-1) and Leominster (5-0) last week, but losing to Acton-Boxborough (5-1), the team stands at 9-2-1. They are currently ranked #10 for Division 1.

Girls Soccer was ranked #14 for D1 after beating Leominster 3-0 last week. The rankings don’t yet include Saturday’s 4-0 loss to 2nd ranked Bishop Feehan.

Boys Soccer is #29 in the D1 Rankings. To be included in the playoffs, they’ll need to stay in the top 32. The rankings took into account last week’s tie against Nipmuc (0-0) and 4-1 loss to Leominster.

Not surprisingly, Gonk Football is near the bottom of the D2 rankings. The team lost its 5th of 5 games on Friday, 20-16 to Shepherd Hill.

Cross Country teams won their 4th straight meet. This time, the Titans Boys beat Wachusett 21-40 and the Girls won 19-36. This Saturday, they’ll head to the annual Twighlight Invitational tournament in Falmouth.

Boys Golf lost to Nashoba last week but followed with two wins over Shrewsbury (away and home).

Now, here are the ARHS varsity games on tap for the week:
