SPD: Deceased male found in Southborough (Updated)

Southborough Police discovered a deceased male in Southborough. Few details are available at this time, but here’s what they shared in their press release today:

On Monday, October 16, 2023, at approx. 1147 hrs, Southborough Police Officers responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked in the rear of a Valley Road property. Officers responded to the scene and located the vehicle; which was found to be registered to a missing person that was recently the subject of a Silver Alert out of Warren, MA. A deceased male was located a short distance away from the vehicle.

The unattended death is being investigated by Mass State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Any additional inquiries should be directed to the District Attorney’s Office.

In mid-September, the Warren Police issued a Silver alert for a missing 82 year old man, last seen driving his car.

Updated (10/18/23 9:21 am): I didn’t want to jump to obvious conclusions before they were confirmed. Since my initial post, the DA’s office has confirmed that the body was identified as the missing man.

The Silver alert (which has been taken down from Facebook) was for Gary Lyons of Warren, MA. At the time the alert was issued, he had last been seen in Monson on September 14th. The alert had noted that Lyons suffered from cognitive impairment.
