This Tuesday evening, the Northborough Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council (NSPAC)* is partnering with other local “SEPACs” to sponsor a webinar on “Anxiety in Relation to Learning/Developmental Disabilities and How to Address in the IEP”.

NSPAC Anxiety webinar flyerThe virtual talk will take place February 6th, 7:00 – 8:30 pm:

Anxiety disorders are becoming increasingly common among children and adolescents, especially in the wake of the pandemic. Given the rising numbers of affected children and adolescents, it has become increasingly important that a student’s emotional health is addressed both at home through private counseling, as well as through the provision of school-based services. When students experience a high level of unmitigated anxiety throughout the day, they are less able to learn and meet their potential.
This presentation will discuss the overlap between anxiety and learning challenges and how to seek services for anxiety through the school district.

The presenters are Pediatric Neuropsychlogists Dr. Erin Gibbons, Ph.D. and Dr. Moira Creedon, Ph.D. (You can read more about them in the flyer above right.)

Register for the webinar here.

*NSPAC is a volunteer-run organization of parents of students ages 3-22 with special needs, medical challenges, and learning differences in the Northborough and Southborough School Districts. Learn more about the organization and events at www.nspac.org.
