AVM concert flyerWith a commitment to musical excellence, AVM is poised to deliver a performance of Brahms’ “A German Requiem” that will leave audiences awe-inspired. This monumental work (composed by Brahms between 1865 and 1868) is, without doubt, one of the best loved and most popular of all choral works, perhaps challenged only by the familiarity of Handel’s Messiah. AVM will perform a contemporary edition and English translation by Lara Hoggard.

Under the faithful artistic direction of Dr. Robert Eaton, AVM has been meticulously preparing for this performance, interpreting Brahms’ rich tapestry of melodies and harmonies with the utmost sensitivity. Joined by talented Boston-based soloists Kristen Watson (soprano) and Andrew Padgett (baritone), the Assabet Valley Mastersingers will transport audiences on a journey through the depths of human experience, exploring themes of love, loss, and redemption.

The show will take place Saturday, May 11th at 7:30pm. Tickets are also available for purchase in advance online here for $20 per student/senior and $25 per adult. They will also be sold at the door.

AVM’s concerts are made possible in part by grants awarded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and eight of its local councils, including the Southborough Cultural Arts Council.
