Organizers are happy to invite the public to join Pilgrim Church for its Chicken BBQ a week from Saturday. The community is encouraged to join them.

Pilgrim BBQ flyerThe event isn’t free, but the fees cover more than just the meal.

The fun is promoted to again include a Bounce House, Games, Face Paint, Wine Bottle Ring Toss, and Raffle.

And the event website promotes the good cause:

Enjoy a good meal and good company as our Pilgrim Congregational Church community comes together to support worship, outreach, and social justice ministries.

The meal will feature Firefly’s BBQ Chicken, mac & cheese, and coleslaw, plus cornbread, along with baked beans, fresh corn, watemelon, and classic pies. And for those looking for non-poultry options at the Chicken BBQ, they’ll also have hot dogs and veggie burgers.

Tickets are $20/adult, $16/senior, and $10/child ages 5+, but free for ages 4 and under. Each meal includes a free raffle ticket.

Organizers are asking people to start buying tickets now:

Your registration helps us plan food, volunteers, and seating so everyone feels welcomed at the table. Thank you for sharing in this time of fellowship and service.

In addition to admission, they’re also selling additional raffle tickets, and tickets to play the Wine Bottle Ring Toss. (I’m told the prize is the bottle you manage to ring!)

The event takes place on Saturday June 13th from 5:00 – 7:30 pm at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common St. (There’s no planned rain date. I assume the congregation will pray for the heavens to smile on the festivities that day!)

The Pilgrim Congregational Church tradition dates back to 1961. After a pandemic pause, the party was rebooted in 2022, with a public invitation to help build a sense of community. To learn more about the church, click here.
