Electric Wire fire on Latisquama causing area power outage (Updated)

This afternoon, a power outage is impacting about 100 customers in the area of Latisquama Road and the neighborhood behind it. The outage is caused by utility wires that caught fire.

The Southborough Fire Department was on the scene. National Grid is aware of the problem and working to resolve it within “2-3 hours”. (I hope sooner, since I’m one of the impacted customers!)

The fire was near the corner of MacNeil Road and Latisquama.

Updated (6/8/26): National Grid is now giving an estimated restore time of 6:00 pm.

Updated (6/23/26 12:30 pm): National Grid restored power before 6:00 pm that evening. The outage was reported as caused by a broken tree limb. A post below from the Southborough Fire Department on Facebook shows that the downed power lines had resulted in a fire:
