Kenneth Alan Holmes, 71, of Fayville, died Monday, August 31, 2026, at the VA Healthcare System – West Roxbury.
He was the son of the late Arthur K. and Janet M. (Gilinsky) Holmes and was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Holmes.
A 1974 graduate of Algonquin Regional High School, Kenny enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation and had a career with the Air Force, part of which was serving during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at the Manchester, NH VA Hospital for years before moving back to live in his childhood home.
Kenny was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed his monthly visits to Foxwoods, Sunday afternoon gatherings with his friends, holidays with his family and sharing the harvest of his vegetable garden every summer with others.
He was a lifelong member of the Southborough Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Fayville Athletic Association.
Kenny is survived by siblings, Donna Davis and her husband Hoyt of Marlborough, David Holmes and his wife Debra of Franklin, and Lynn Morin and her husband Kenneth of Fayville. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Hoyt Davis III and his wife Alaina, Colleen Carrion and her husband Raul, Christopher Davis and his wife Caroline, Brittany Kennedy and her husband Tyler, Garrett Holmes, Stefan Morin, Corey Morin and his partner Amber, Tyler Morin and his fiancé Abigail and Jen O’Brien and her fiancé Chris and great nieces and nephews, Trey and Rhys Davis, Tiana and Javier Carrion, Cecilia and Blake Moran and Hayden Kennedy.
Visiting hours for Kenny will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00-7:00PM at the Morris-Johnston Funeral home, 40 Main Street, Southborough, MA 01772. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00AM at St. Matthew’s Church, 26 Highland Street, Southborough, MA 01772. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road, Southborough, MA 01772.
