This year, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is again inviting the entire community to join them for the Annual Blessing of the Animals. The event comes with additional incentives to attend beyond the special blessings.
The event is this Sunday, October 4th at 3:00 pm at 27 Main Street. It is timed for the week of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals.
The church website indicates that animal blessings will also be included in their morning service — just don’t bring your live animals with you for that part of the event:
Bring your stuffies and pet photos to the 10am service and then come to the churchyard at 3pm to have your pets blessed in person. Stay for pony rides, our own “Ask-a-Vet” station and more. Don’t miss it!
If you are bringing live animals that afternoon, the church’s flyer asks to please bring them “suitably leashed or restrained”.
The “Ask-a-Vet” station will be run by Dr. Sharon Westphal of Southborough Veterinary Hospital.
