Although all the appointments are booked for this week’s visit from the Bloodmobile, donors should still be able to take advantage of walk-in opportunities between noon to 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 8th.

As usual, the bloodmobile will be parked in the Southborough Library’s parking lot at 25 Main Street.

For those unfamiliar, the travelling blood donation center provided by the Kraft Family Donor Center serves Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. (You can learn more about the partnership here.) Over the summer, a new bloodmobile vehicle was put into service:

According to a recent post by the Kraft Center, as an incentive/reward for donating this month, those who successfully donate will receive a long sleeve Patriots Crucial Catch crewneck.1

To donate, you must be over 17 years old, at least 110lbs., and “in good health and feeling well”, and bring a Photo ID. (Participants are also encouraged to “Be well hydrated and eat before donating”.)2

Thanks again to organizer Karen Anglim, who has been arranging for the Blood Mobile to make multiple visits each year for the past few years. Save the dates for more one more drive this year — on Thursday, December 17th.

  1. Those who donate platelets this month will also be entered into a raffle to win to win 2 tickets to the November 8th Patriots game. But that can’t be done through the Bloodmobile. You would need to book an appointment at a platelet specialist like Dana Farber or MassGeneral.
  2. If you have other concerns about specific eligibility issues, please email BloodDonor@partners.org or call 617-632-3206.
