Southborough residents registered as Democrats (aged 16+) are invited to attend/participate in the Southborough Democratic Committees’ hybrid caucus next week. The group will elect delegates to represent our Town at the state convention.
Unlike in the state’s party primaries, voters can’t participate in the caucus if they are currently unenrolled in the party. But eligible voters who are interested, can register in person at the caucus.1
And, according to the Chair, the caucus is open to the full public to observe.
The Southborough Dems’ caucus will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 7:00 pm. (Doors open at 6:30 pm.) The group will gather at the Southborough Library in the downstairs Eaton meeting room.
Remote participation will also be available. (If you plan to attend virtually, please email Kara M. Le Treize, Chair of the Southborough Democratic Town Committee, at kletreize@gmail.com.)
The event registration page invites:
At the caucus, registered and pre-registered Democrats in Southborough will gather to elect delegates and alternates to represent the town at the 2026 Massachusetts Democratic Convention, and to connect with neighbors and fellow Democrats.
All are welcome to attend, and first-time participants are encouraged. To vote or run for delegate or alternate, you must be a registered Democrat in Southborough.

The representatives selected by the caucus will participate in the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2026 Convention at the DCU Center in Worcester on Friday, May 29th – and Saturday, May 30th. For more information on MassDems caucuses and the state convention, click here.
Worth noting for politically active teens — Even though 16 & 17 year old citizens can’t vote in elections yet, they are allowed to “pre-register” in Massachusetts. That includes enrolling in a political party. Under MassDems rules, they can also participate in their local caucus, and even be elected to attend the convention as a “youth delegate”.2
- Or, if you’d like to register, check, or change your party registration in advance, you can do that online here.
- Editor’s Note: Before she was able to vote in elections, my daughter was excited to take advantage of the youth opportunity as part of the Southborough Dems.
