  • Live Music with DSP (8:00 – 11:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: The Dane Street Project’s trio will perform acoustic folk Americana and contemporary pop classics.. For details, click here

Saturday, March 7, 2026

  • What is Ramadan? (11:00 – 11:45am) @ Southborough Library:An informative program on the history and practice of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and the holy month of fasting. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Semi-monthly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • Safer Spaces Project – Youth D&D “Session 0” (6:00 – 9:00 pm): Event for grades 6-12 hosted by Safer Spaces for LBGTQ+ youth of all faiths and their allies. Tonight, they’ll work with a facilitator to learn and launch “Queer-Themed” Dungeons & Dragons game play. For details, see their Facebook post or Instagram post.

  • Assabet Valley Mastersingers concert (3:30 pm) @ St John’s High School, 378 Main St, Shrewsbury: AVM’s March 2026 concert features the late British composer James Whitbourn’s “Annelies”, a composition based on Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. For details, click here.

Monday, March 9, 2026

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. (Dependent on weather conditions.) Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Library Seed Exchange Launch (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Visit the library during regular hours to choose vegetable, herb and/or flower seed packets from their repurposed card catalogue to plant in your home garden. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Rummikub (11:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Drop-in to the game group for seniors, meeting the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Monday of each month. 
  • Knitting Club & Quilting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Weekly opportunity for senior crafters to work on their projects in a social setting, including knitting, sewing, cross stitching, needle point.
  • ARHS Spring Athletic Night (6:00 – 8:00pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School: Night for Algonquin students who will be playing in spring sports and their parents/caregivers.

Tuesday, March 10, 2026

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • ARHS Volleyball Tournament (Algonquin Regional High School, B Gym) @ Algonquin Regional High School, B Gym: The annual tournament for ARHS students organized by ARHS Student Council. For details and to sign up teams, see Instagram post.
  • TLT: St Patrick’s Day Cards  (5:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Main Floor: The library holds a monthly Teen Library Team volunteer program for ages 10-18 to make projects for others in need. This session volunteers will make cards for St. Patrick’s Day to be given out to seniors!, click here.
  • Select Board Office Hours? (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Town House Hearing Room, 17 Common St and zoom: Note: Since the board is holding a meeting at 6:30 pm, this will either be cut short, or (more likely) rescheduled. Residents are invited to drop in to informally speak with two Board members about any questions, concerns or interests. This session was scheduled to be run by Andrew Dennington and Tim Fling.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. (Dependent on weather conditions.)   • ARHS Blood Drive (8:30 am – 2:00 pm) @ Algonquin: Student blood drive for students ages 16+ (with parental consent) hosted by ARHS HOSA (Health Occupation Students Assoc) & Mass General Hospital For details and to sign up, click here.
  • Elder Law Advice (10:00 – 10:45 am) @ phone or zoom: Southborough seniors can sign up for a free 15 minute session of individualized legal advice from an Elder Law attorney. For details, see related post.
  • Nature Story Time (1:30 – 2:15 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: This free program for 2-5 year olds requires pre-registration. The monthly story and craft series is put on by the Dept of Conservation & Recreation. This month’s focus is The Big Life of a Busy Tree. For details, see related post.
  • Virtual Author Talk (2:00 – 3:00 pm) @ online: Registration is required to take part in the free live talk with Q&A, “Unlock the Hidden Power of Dreams with Sleep Expert Michelle Carr”. This is part of the Southborough Library’s virtual series featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly acclaimed authors from around the world. For details, see related post.

  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (10:15 – 11:00 am) @ Southborough Library: This is a free series for children, ages 3-6 to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Southborough Democratic Caucus (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library and virtual: The Southborough Dems committee will hold a public meeting to elect delegates to the annual MassDems convention in May. For details, see dedicated post.
  • ARHS’ Winter Play “Little Women” (7:00 – 7:50 pm) @ 7:00 – 8:00 pm: GonkStage is putting on a “heartfelt” one act adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Rhyme Time (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Weekly drop-in program for babies and toddlers (and parents/caregivers). Join Ms. Jenny for rhymes, songs, and more fun.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group playing “Hand & Foot”. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • American Mah Jongg Meetup (1:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Floor Stacks: Biweekly opportunity. Drop ins are welcome, but groups of 4 are generally necessary to play. For details, see related post.

  • Youth Sports Equipment Swap (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Recreation, 21 Highland St: Donate gently used youth sports equipment March 9-13th, then come by to shop during this event. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Commemorating Henry Knox and the ‘”Noble Train of Artillery” in the Automobile Age (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough History & Arts Center, 42 Central St: Historical presentation by Ben Haley sponsored by the Southborough Historical Commission.
