Cash for Camperships Thank You

Above: As usual, Southborough Rotary used their tables at their Food Truck Festival not just to promote their organization and events, but also to raise funds for a cause. This year, the cause was helping to support Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission’s camp scholarship program. (images from Facebook and ad)

The Rotary Club of Southborough asked me to share the message below, following up on the successful charitable fundraising effort at the 2026 Food Truck Festival earlier this spring.

The Rotary Club of Southborough would like to thank our Cash for Campership sponsors and the community for raising $3,481 to send children to camp. With the cost of fuel and food, many families in Southborough benefit from scholarships to help pay for a great camp experience and allowing them to keep working over the summer. The Friends of Southborough Youth Commission are grateful for the generosity of our community. We could not have done this without our great sponsors!

If you like the Food Trucks, then you will love Rotary Club of Southborough’s Oktoberfest event. We plan to have Food Trucks, a band, Big TV with the Patriots Game on. Grab some beer or cider, hot dogs or wurst and have a great time! Proceeds will go to the Southborough Food Pantry & Free Fridge.*

Join Rotary and help us plan more community events. Find our meetings and events on Facebook and at www.rotarysouthborough.com.

Updated (8/18/26 9:06 am): Initially, I added a note that Rotary’s website was temporarily down. The issue has been fixed and it’s back up and running again.

The Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission, Inc. (Friends) was the beneficiary of the Food Truck proceeds. Friends was able to provide our two Town summer camp programs with almost $20,000 this summer to allow children who would not be able to attend summer camp otherwise to go to camp. Summer camp is good for children and serves as daycare for working parents. Friends is so grateful for the Rotary contribution to this program.
I also want to thank Rotary for all they do for the Town. It is a small group but they accomplish much. I hope the upcoming Octoberfest is also a success.
