The Towns of Northborough and Southborough are organizing a volunteer fair for next month. It’s a chance for tweens/teens in grades 6-12 to learn about volunteer opportunities.
It’s also a chance for area non-profits, community groups and other organizations/businesses to promote their volunteer opportunities.
The Youth Volunteer Fair will take place on Tuesday, May 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Algonquin Regional High School cafeteria, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough.
The event is co-sponsored by Northborough Health & Human Services and Southborough Youth & Family Services.
The fair is organized to help Northborough/Southborough middle and high school students. About 15 organizations are already signed up to have tables to recruit volunteers.
Organizers are happy to sign up more organizations to have a free table at the fair. Exhibitors should be local, but aren’t limited to the two towns. (For instance, I’m told that they have reached out to nearby hospitals to see if they are interested in a table.)
