The “community coalition focused on preventing and reducing substance misuse in Northborough and Southborough” is again seeking to engage with parents and caregivers.

This time, they are holding virtual focus groups with a focus on middle and high school students.

On Facebook, Encompass issued the following invitation to parents/caregivers of middle or high school aged children in Northborough or Southborough:

Encompass Focus Groups flyerWe need your help!!

Please consider taking the time to participate in one of our parent & caregiver focus groups this May! The goal of Encompass is to provide the most data-driven and community-informed prevention programming possible to Northborough & Southborough.

In order to do that, we need input from real families about how they perceive substance use and health behaviors in the community! This is an opportunity for parents to help shape the future of drug and alcohol prevention for kids, but also to voice any concerns they may have now that are happening in real time!

The group is organizing four focus groups over zoom. As an incentive, Encompass will give out gift cards to participants.

Although they are broken out by grade groups, families who have kids in both can select any of the below sessions:

  • Middle School parent/caregiver focus groups
    • May 19th at 7:00 pm
    • May 21st at 1:00 pm
  • High School parent/caregiver focus groups
    • May 26th at 7:00 pm
    • May 28th at 1:00 pm
