When I stopped by the reservoir off Middle Road earlier this week to take photos of the algae bloom, I got lucky. As I pulled up I saw four great blue herons hanging out by the water. I can’t say I’ve ever watched much Little League play before this summer, and only ever had vague notions of the Little League World Series in years past. But this year, things are different. I don’t know about you, but thanks to the amazing run by our hometown boys, I now feel surprisingly invested in the New England championships, even though our team is no longer in it. When the Woodland Meadows 40B housing development off Oak Hill Road was first proposed, it was going to be a 4-story, 43-unit complex. When the developer was unable to get approval for the project due to stormwater concerns, he scaled it back to 16 townhouses.
