Breaking news: Boland and Mills win at the polls

The votes are in, and Bill Boland has won reelection to the Board of Selectman. Boland received 942 votes to challenger Leo Bartolini Jr’s 509. In Southborough’s other contested race, Andrew Mills was awarded a seat on the Planning Board over Sam Stivers by a margin of 903 to 463 votes. Find out how to apply for CPA funds at a public forum on Thursday

Each year voters at Town Meeting decide how to allocate a couple hundred thousand dollars collected through the Community Preservation Act. A good chunk of the money goes to pay the Chestnut Hill bond, but there’s still plenty left over. In the past CPA money has gone toward things like the South Union Playground, volleyball courts at Neary School, and affordable housing projects.
