Clark University to open Southborough facility

Former superintendent Bob Melican has died

Longtime Northborough-Southborough superintendent Robert Melican passed away Wednesday after a long illness. He was 62. Melican began his education career as a teacher in Northborough in 1969. He advanced to superintendent in 1996. In 2004 he was named the state’s Superintendent of the Year. He retired in 2005 after 36 years of service.
