Southborough resident’s discovery makes troops safer

While on tour in Iraq, Southborough native Jason Cox developed a technique for detecting improvised explosives that uses infrared imaging. The technique allows troops to identify roadside bombs from a safer distance. Cox was recently honored for his work with the US Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. I’m always surprised by how many business are headquartered in Southborough. One that was featured in the news recently is Protonex Technology Corporation on Northborough Road. They just got a $400K contract with the military to adapt their fuel cells to run on fuel types used by the military. Read more in the Worcester Business
