Algonquin sports wrap-up

Algonquin sophomore and Southborough resident Lauren Yung was named the Student Athlete of the Month for December by the MIAA. Yung is an all-star on the volleyball team and a straight-A student. Read more in the Metrowest Daily News.

Pre-school screening

The Northborough/Southborough Public School’s Integrated Pre-School Program is inviting neighborhood children who will be three years old by June 15, 2009 for a screening for
possible enrollment.
The program brings together neighborhood children and special needs children. The screenings will take place on January 30, 2009 at both the Zeh and Finn Schools.

How much those snow plows cost you

The Boston Globe recently posted a comparison of how much towns paid for snow removal in 2008. For Southborough it was $287K, which works out to about $30 per town resident.
The state average is $29 per person, so we’re not too far off the mark. By comparison, Northborough residents pay the equivalent of $20 each,
