RAP registration opens today

Registration opens today for RAP (Recreation After-School Program) Session 2. Programs start November 9 and are offered at all four Southborough schools — Finn, Woodward, Neary, and Trottier.
You can view the offerings and find registation information on the Recreation Department website.

Walgreens buys Eaton Apothecary

Walgreens has purchased Holliston-based Eaton Apothecary for $19M. Eaton has 12 Boston-area stores, including one in the Southborough Center plaza. Walgreens said it would keep “most” of the locations open after the deal closes, which is expected to happen in the next 90 days.

Selectmen and Planning Board to consider Main Street plans

Parking or no parking. Sidewalks or no sidewalks. Trees and green space. Room for bike travel. Stone walls.
All of these things and more were considered by a couple dozen residents last month at a public meeting to review options for a redesigned Main Street.

The week in government

There are all kinds of meetings this week. The Planning Board and Board of Selectmen will both be asked to make recommendations on plans for improving Main Street — more on this in a separate post later today. On Wednesday, the Zoning Board of Appeals will hear the latest on the proposed Woodland Meadows development.
