Tough week for Southborough train commuters

by susan on November 4, 2009

Switch problems in Worcester this morning led to significant delays on the Worcester/Framingham commuter rail line that runs through Southborough.

A commuter who catches the train in Grafton said it’s been a bad week on the rail line:

…out of 5 commutes this week, 3 of them have been delayed by more than 1/2 hour. It’s not even winter yet! I shudder to think what will happen if this is just the beginning.

Some may argue it’s been a bad couple of months. In September a commuter rail train from Southborough was involved in a low-speed crash at South Station.

It has been a painful week on the train. The MBTA is blaming “wet leaves”. I can only imagine how bad it will be when we have “wet snow and ice”. The only way to deal with late and delayed trains is a good, long book. I’d suggest Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ to all my fellow train commuters.
