Jane Moran appointed new police chief

The Board of Selectmen has unanimously appointed Interim Chief Jane Moran as Southborough’s new permanent chief of police. The decision tonight comes just over a year after Police Chief William Webber died of cancer.

National Grid plans tree removal

There will be a public hearing on Thursday to review National Grid’s application to cut down 38 trees and prune another 3 because they’re threatening main power lines. The trees are located on these roads:

Lynnbrook Road – 1 removal
Lovers Lane – 22 removals, 3 trims
Flagg Road – 10 removals
Deerfoot Road – 5 removals

Selectmen interview police chief candidates

It was a show of overwhelming support for Interim Chief Jane Moran last night after interviews for Southborough’s new police chief wrapped up, with most of the support coming from her own department.
