Southborough police logs (7/20/12 – 7/22/12): Police warn of vehicle break-ins

Southborough police are warning residents to lock their car doors when parked at home or when out and about, after two vehicle break-ins were reported in recent days. One took place at a residence and the other while the car was parked at a Main Street business. Police say laptops, iPads, and other valuables were stolen.

  • 6:03 am – Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Flagg Road. There were no injuries reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 6:11 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Cordaville Road business.
  • 6:27 am – A resident of Newton Street called to complain about speeding cars in the area. An officer responded and set up a radar post on scene. *Reminder* – If you have a complaint about speeding on your street, please call the station and ask for Sgt. Tim Slatkavitz’s voice mail. Leave a message that includes the time and area on your road where you’ve observed speeding vehicles. Thank you.
  • 6:37 am – An officer on patrol notified dispatch that the road sign for Eastbrook Farm Lane was pulled out of the ground. The DPW was notified.
  • 7:56 am – A two car, motor vehicle accident was reported at Turnpike Road and Breakneck Hill Road. Minor injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 8:05 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at St. Mark’s school.
  • 10:10 am – A resident of Sarsenstone Way reported that multiple vehicles were broken into in their driveway, and that several items were missing from the vehicles. A report was filed by the responding officer, and the detective unit will be investigating.
  • 10:18 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 10:44 am – An officer assisted a Walnut Drive resident with a child custody dispute.
  • 12:06 pm – Officers investigated a parking complaint on Southwood Road.
  • 12:19 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Clifford Road residence.
  • 2:10 pm – A motorist reported road debris on Marlboro Road. The debris, which included shot gun shells, rags, and other various items, was removed from the roadway by the responding officer.
  • 4:03 pm – Officers assisted a resident with a domestic issue at the police station.
  • 4:52 pm – A medical was reported at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 5:03 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 6:37 pm – Officers investigated a parking complaint on Parkerville Road.
  • 8:58 pm – A resident reported hearing fireworks in the area of Cordaville Road and Richards Road. The responding officers were unable to locate the source of the fireworks.
  • 9:26 pm – ARRESTED: An Oland Lane resident was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault & Battery.
  • 9:57 pm – Officers responded to the area of Cordaville Road for a second complaint of fireworks in the area. The fireworks had ceased, prior to the responding officer’s arrival. The officers were unable to locate the source of the fireworks.
  • 10:14 pm – Officers responded, again, to the Cordaville Road area for a complaint of fireworks in the area. The responding officers were not able to locate the source of the fireworks.

  • 12:40 am – An officer on patrol observed an open vehicle door at a Parkerville Road residence. The officer contacted the resident, and verified that the vehicle was not broken into.
  • 12:56 am – A motorist reported two vehicles involved in an on-going road rage incident on Turnpike Road. The vehicles had left the area, prior to the responding officer’s arrival.
  • 1:04 am – A medical was reported at a Cherry Street residence.
  • 2:05 am – An officer on patrol observed a male and a female party, fighting in the parking lot of a Turnpike Road business. Both parties confirmed that the male party was showing the female party his “karate moves”.
  • 10:25 am – Officers assisted a disabled tractor trailer unit on Turnpike Road.
  • 11:25 am – An officer investigated a larceny report at a Turnpike Road business. A cell phone and backpack were taken out of a parked motor vehicle.
  • 11:44 am – Officers investigated a barking dog complaint at a Cordaville Road residence. The Animal Control Officer was also notified of the incident.
  • 12:57 pm – A resident requested that an officer observe a payment of a bill (between two parties) in the lobby of the police station. The transaction was observed and logged for the resident.
  • 2:47 pm – A medical was reported on Parkerville Road by Main Street.
  • 3:44 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 4:52 pm – ARRESTED: A Hudson man was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Newton District Court. He was also civilly cited for marijuana found inside his vehicle.
  • 5:27 pm – A medical was reported at a Cordaville Road business.
  • 7:21 pm – A Darlene Road resident reported a party had occurred at their home, while they were out of town on vacation. The responding officer investigated the incident and filed a report.
  • 7:42 pm – A motorist from Framingham was issued a Criminal Application for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
  • 11:11 pm – Officers responded to Sears Road to investigate a report of loud music in the area. The responding officers reported that there was no audible music in the area during their check.

  • 1:07 am – Officers checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked in front of a Turnpike Road business. The operator advised the officer that she had pulled over in order to text on her phone.
  • 2:23 am – ARRESTED: A Framingham man was arrested and charged with OUI Alcohol and speeding.
  • 3:37 am – Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a Turnpike Road business. The vehicle and the operator checked out o.k.
  • 6:28 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Main Street business.
  • 11:14 am – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident at Valley Road and Boston Road. No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 12:14 pm – A resident of Saddle Hill Lane reported that their child’s social security number was used fraudulently. The detective unit was notified and will be following up with an investigation.
  • 5:02 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Schipper Farm Lane residence.
  • 7:39 pm – A resident reported that a laptop computer was stolen out of their vehicle while it was parked behind a Main Street business. The responding officer took a report, and the detective unit will be investigating.
  • 6:12 pm – A Brockton man was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked Registration, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
  • 8:09 pm – A Candlewood Lane resident called to report suspicious activity at their neighbor’s home. The residence was secured and the officer reported no further issues at the home.
  • 9:29 pm – A Latisquama Road resident reported a dog barking on their front lawn. The Animal Control Officer was notified.
  • 10:49 pm – An Atwood Road resident called to report that someone had just been dropped off in front of their house, and was now walking up and down the road. The responding officer located the male party, who was later confirmed to be the son of the reporting party. Everything checked out o.k.
  • 11:07 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call at a Pine Hill Road residence.
