Southborough is a chorus of voices on a summer evening. I love throwing the windows wide and listening to the nighttime sounds (while staying inside and safely ensconced from all those mosquitoes).

Algonquin football begins their season tonight with a new coach and new hopes. The school hasn’t had a wining football season since 1997, but they’re banking on Assumption College grad and former Wachusett Regional offensive coordinator Justin McKay to turn things around.

Job opening: Town of Southborough looking for administrative secretary

The Town of Southborough is searching for a new administrative assistant to work in the Building and Zoning Departments. The vacancy comes after current assistant Jeanne Survell resigned to take a new position with the town of Sterling, Interim Town Administrator Vanessa Hale said this week.

Few Southborough residents voted in state primary

In a primary election in which most contestants ran unopposed, it’s probably no surprise that only a small number of Southborough residents turned out to vote yesterday. According to the Town Clerk’s office, a mere 540 ballots were cast, which makes for a turnout of only 7.84%.
