How you can help: The gift of custom photography

(This is the latest in a series of posts about ways you can help those in need this holiday season.)

During the holidays we’re used to donating toys and food, clothing and gift cards. But here’s your chance to give one deserving family something that will last a lifetime: preserved memories.

Southborough photographer Nancy Gould is giving away $1,000 worth of custom photography to one family who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Families must be nominated to be eligible.

In a call for nominations on her blog, Nancy put it this way:

“You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.”

The winning family will get a free sitting with Nancy along with prints, a slide show, an album, or other creation. And if you need any more incentive, the person who nominates the winning family will get $250 toward a sitting with Nancy.
