FY2010 budget: What’s in and what’s out

On their way to balancing the budget for fiscal year 2010, the Board of Selectmen have made a number of cuts, including some big capital projects. There’s still about $130K left to cut, but here’s how things stood as of the selectmen meeting last week.

Capital projects and articles still in the budget:

  • School technology equipment lease – $64,991 (Reduced from $205,763)
  • Trottier roof and library repairs – $24,000
  • Trottier fire panel – $15,000
  • Finn plumbing review and repairs – $15,000
  • Town House chimney repairs – $6,000
  • Fire Station generator repairs – $4,800
  • DPW roads – $250,000 (reduced from $350,000)
  • DPW equipment – $185,000 (reduced from $225,000)
  • Town House copier – $15,000
  • EMS reporting system – $40,000
  • Transfer Station hopper – $60,000
  • DPW site remediation – $55,000 $40,000
  • Police Cruisers and SUV – $41,000 (reduced from $62,000)
  • Town House boiler – $35,000
  • Cordaville Hall roof – $46,000

Capital projects that have been cut:

  • Neary parking lot seal coating – $12,000
  • Neary sidewalk extension – $10,000
  • Woodward heat in kitchen – $25,000
  • Finn sidewalk repairs – $5,000
  • Fire Department flooring – $6,000
  • Senior Center room dividers – $38,000
  • DPW solar panels – $300,000
  • Replace Town House carpet – $12,000
  • Senior Center air conditioning – $24,800
  • Senior Center hung ceiling – $32,600
  • Town House office reconfiguration – $100,000
  • Main Street Underground utility design – $350,000
