You don’t hear much about budget surpluses these days, but that’s exactly the situation Assabet found itself in recently. And because of the surplus, they’re refunding money to member towns, including $19K to Southborough.

Update: At the Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday night, Town Planner Jean Kitchen said she received the check from Assabet. The money will go into the town’s general fund.
